     Cemetery project          ___ improvements

A.  Progress Completed:
  1. Creation of Tishomingo Improvement Committee, 2012
  2. Survey of Cemetery Property Completed, 2013-2014
  3. Development of Master Plan for Cemetery Improvements (MKEC Engineering) 2014
  4. Development of Fund-Raising Campaign, 2014 to date
  5. City Council approved raising the sale of cemetery plots to $500/each and opening-closing fees to $300.  Also approved a charge of $500 for each columbarium niche, 2016  
  6. Platting of new section of cemetery, 2016-2017
  7. Construction of outdoor chapel, 2016-2017
  8. Removal of old sidewalk and construction of new sidewalk, 2016-2017
  9. Installation of water and electricity, 2017
  10. Installation of new fence and gates east and south sides, 2017
  11. Initial lay of road in new section, 2018
  12. New concrete entrance and columbarium pad, 2018
  13. Plants/landscaping began, 2018
  14. First columbarium placed, 2018
  15. Cemetery policy and procedures updated and filed of record, 2018
  16. Sandblasting and repainting of original pillars and gates, 2018
  17. Began laying of Memorial bricks and hanging of fence plaques, 2018
  18. Ribbon Cutting and Restoration Celebration, 2018
  19. Asphalt streets in the cemetery, 2019
  1. Tishomingo Masonic Lodge #91 AF&AM Cornerstone Ceremony, 2019
  2. Section Markers placed throughout cemetery, 2020
  3. Complete fencing of cemetery (west and south borders) 2020
  4. Arborvitae trees planted along fence in new section (northeast area)
 
B.  Future Plans:
  1. Seal asphalt roads within cemetery
  2. Have grave locator information at entrance
  3. Complete PF Section platting 
  4. Research/resolve unknown, unmarked and/or undocumented grave information to update records
  5. Purchase and place trash receptacles throughout the cemetery
  6. Initialize a “Friends of the Cemetery” group for future oversight
